#Repost @annupton.art ・・・ Today is our last day on vacation, and the day we were waiting to do our one day at Disney (finally!!) and our twins woke up with 103 degree fevers. We leave early tomorrow to go home, so it was incredibly bittersweet telling our 2 five year olds that Disney just wasn’t going to happen. As a mom it’s hard to feel like you are somehow letting your kids down, even for something not in your control. As the day has gone on though I’m trying to see this whole experience from a different foxhole. Yes the kids were sick virtually this entire week-on steroids, breathing treatments, antibiotics and around the clock Tylenol. I’m reminded though even in times like this that our `ohana has SO much to be thankful for. Our kids are only sick in passing—they WILL get better, and aren’t facing a challenging long term illness. My husband has a job we could take time off from, and I have clients that give me the flexibility to do the same. I think too often all of us are stuck on the what could have been, or the what others have—instead of the thankfulness for being in the moment. The grass is always greener syndrome, or perhaps even just a disconnect from fellow man and more important struggles others face.
